Maral Akbari Anvaryan is a Design researcher and Multidisciplinary designer and MFA candidate specializing in trauma-informed and human-centered design. Play, movement, and emotional connection in urban environments are the themes. She explores in her work. Based on psychodynamic frameworks, she develops interactive public elements, such as benches and playground structures, that promote community engagement, reflection, and well-being.
With a Bachelor of Industrial Design from the Islamic University of Tehran Central Branch, she is now completing an MFA in Industrial Design at Wayne State University. She has partnered with companies including Kelly Engineering and Namad Studio, contributing across research, concept development, and implementation to refine product outcomes and ensure design integrity.
